BMK History

BMK Corporation was initially started in St. Louis by David G. Keske, owner of Foam Supplies, Inc.  BMK was founded in the mid-80's to make synthetic bowling pins.  In fact, the synthetic bowling pin produced by the BMK Corporation was the first pin to meet all of the Bowling Association's standards.  The goal was for BMK's pin business to fit in with Foam Supplies manufacture of the "Hammer"-- a very popular bowling ball at the time.  The bowling pin business never really took off because it was later discovered that BMK would have to finance the bowling alleys, a task BMK decided to not partake.

In 1988, the Utility Industry was exploring new methods for pole setting and pole repair.  At this time, Dwight Ashmore, a salesman for Foam Supplies, Inc. had a neighbor who worked for Texas Utility Company (TXU) who inquired about the use of polyurethanes in pole setting and repair and thus began BMK Corporation's involvement with the Utility Industry.  The research and development to test the possibilities of polyurethane use bore the first three products:  Polecrete® Stabilzer, Polecrete® RSP, and Padcrete.

In so much as the BMK name was already registered, the product line was simply shifted to aim towards the Utility Industry rather than the Bowling Industry.   At this time production consisted of the Keske boys and their friends coming in on weekends, breaks, and

summer vacations to manufacture kits at the Foam Supplies' Page Industrial Blvd. plant.

BMK recognized that there was a lack of consistency and reliability in the Utility Industry as repair is concerned, and approached the market with superior Quality Control procedures, failure-free field tests, and developed easy to use, consistent, reliable products.  This approach proved a key to success.   BMK's products are convenient and prove to be significant time savers.  Consequently, the majority of business growth has and continues to stem from word of mouth.

With increases in business, production needs outgrew the part time labor of the Keske brothers and friends and the search for employees began.  In 1997, Jane McCoy was hired on the spot.  Unknown at the time, BMK had acquired one of its greatest assets with her employment, and she has fostered a work environment that is not only productive, but safe, clean, and enjoyable.    Jane and her team have always been able to handle the production increases without sacrificing the quality.

BMK continues to work out of the Foam Supplies plant in Earth City (St. Louis), MO and in addition has a second warehouse facility with Foam Supplies, just outside of Dallas in Lewisville, TX offering two strategic distribution points.

New products and efforts have been developed to target the Department of Transportation, Sign Installation, and Fencing markets.  The growth has been amazing and is expected to continue.
